In an effort to conserve energy and reduce costs, Lochrane has researched and is now implementing methods to cut back on unnecessary computer use and electricity. During the year, workstations, laptops, printers, servers and other various electrical devices that are used on a daily basis consume a large amount of collective energy each year. With Lochrane's new Company Wide Computer & Printer Power Management Policy, it is estimated the firm can save 15-20% off its electrical consumption. This new policy implements timers on shared printers to shut off during non-work hours, and has workstations automatically shut off during non-work hours. Over the years to come, this cost savings and conservation of energy can be significant.
