Louise Hom, Utility Coordinator with Lochrane Engineering, Inc., has been elected to the Sunshine State One-Call of Florida, Inc. (SSOCOF) Board to continue as a Director for 2009-2010 Board year. Louise’s dedication and commitment to SSOCOF over the past 15 years as well as the relationships that Louise has formed make her an ideal candidate for the Board. Louise is the first representative on the Board from an engineering firm. As part of her term Louise will sit on the following Committees for SSOCOF: Damage Prevention Committee, Finance Committee, Legislative Ad-Hoc Committee, and Enforcement Ad-Hoc Committee.

 
The 21-member board that meets bi-monthly sets policy for the operation of SSOCOF and makes overall decisions for the company. The mission of Sunshine State One-Call of Florida, Inc. is to assist in the prevention of damage to our members’ underground facilities by providing a dependable, cost-effective and efficient one-call center. The not for profit corporation began with the 1993 adoption of the "Underground Facility Damage Prevention and Safety Act," Chapter 556, Florida Statutes. Lochrane recently brought Louise Hom on board to work with Trisha Miller, Senior Utility Coordinator, to support the firm’s specialized service of Utility Coordination. This service is part of the seamless approach to providing top quality Subsurface Utility Exploration and Utility Engineering services to clients. Lochrane’s process focuses on the importance of minimizing impacts to utilities from the proposed drainage design in an effort to minimize costly project expenses and potential claims during construction. Lochrane’s objective ties into the SSOCOF mission, and the firm strongly supports Louise’s involvement on the SSOCOF Board.
