IKEA at Millenia Mall

The Lochrane team provided full land surveys, civil site design, off-site roadway design and all sitework permitting for this IKEA store recently opened in Orlando, Florida. This 308,924 square foot store is located at the upscale Millenia Mall situated across from Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s. Along with keeping close communication with the client, Lochrane interactively engaged in the day-to-day development initiatives to ensure the aggressive schedule remained on track throughout the design process. The Lochrane Civil Division began this project in March of 2006, working closely with IKEA’s prime consultant for this project - Greenberg Farrow & Associates. As only the 2nd IKEA store to open in the state of Florida, the Orlando market’s high anticipation and demand for this project was evident throughout the design and on its grand opening day. In anticipation of IKEA’s grand opening, excited customers lined up and camped outside days before the November 14, 2007 opening! Lochrane is pleased to be working once again with the Greenberg Farrow team on IKEA’s Tampa store, due to open in July 2009!  

Whole Foods Market at Phillips Crossing
Orlando, Florida

The Whole Foods Market is the anchor tenant of a 146,000 square foot shopping center known as Phillips Crossing at the intersection of Sand Lake Road and Turkey Lake Road in Orlando. The Whole Foods Market is the first brand new store built by the company in the Central Florida area. Other retail tenants in the center include Golf Galaxy and Michael’s. New restaurants in the center include such local favorites as Pei Wei Asian Diner and Seito Sushi.

Winter Garden Village at Fowler Groves
Winter Garden, Florida

The Winter Garden Village at Fowler Groves is the vision of The Sembler Company and is a landmark project for the City of Winter Garden.  This project encompasses an open-air shopping center with 1,150,000 square feet of commercial space and includes a residential component providing 450 multifamily units.  Lochrane provided full survey services, participated in numerous public hearings and city reviews and successfully met and exceeded the expectations of the client by providing accelerated permit scheduling and fast track construction. This project began in 2004 and construction was completed in 2007.  This project is the largest mix use land development project in the City's history.

Wal-Mart at Poinciana Place
Kissimmee, Florida

Wal-Mart at Poinciana Place is a facility for supplying grocery and soft goods to citizens of Kissimmee and neighboring communities.  Lochrane provided land development services including full survey service, civil/site design, public meeting presentations, permitting, and paving and drainage designs.  Not only were we able to meet our client's expectations by efficiently obtaining approvals from the local municipality, this rapid entitlement process allowed positioned Wal-Mart to be able to open the store earlier than anticipated -- in time for Hurricane Charlie relief for nearby residents.  This store has been in successful operation since that that early Grand Opening.

Winter Springs Town Center
Winter Springs, Florida

The Winter Springs Town Center is a unique multi phase project, incorporating multiple interfaces with the Cross Seminole Trail.  Upon completion, this facility will provide a spectacular centerpiece for the city of Winter Springs, which will include residential, retail, and recreational components.  Lochrane provides a full spectrum of survey land development services for this development.  Focusing on the client's vision, Lochrane has worked closely with City and State agencies concerning unique environmental issues and has maintained a steady course to insure a smooth design and construction process.

Covenant on the Lakes Senior Apartments
Orlando, Florida

The Covenant on the Lakes Senior Apartments project began in 2004 and was completed in 2006.  It was a joint effort between a local developer and a local church, ultimately providing much needed senior housing.  Lochrane was able to provide survey and land development services that maintained budget and avoided potential access and drainage issues that could have adversely affected the project.  Additionally, Lochrane was able to fulfill the client's expectations by gaining the full acceptance of community neighbors and endorsement by the church board -- all while adhering to the project schedule.

Super Target at Millenia Mall
Orlando, Florida

Super Target at Millenia Mall is one of Lochrane Engineering's recent landmark projects in the Millenia area.  This Super Target was developed in accordance with mall architectural standards which resulted in featuring stunning Mediterranean architectural style incorporating trusses and unique landscaping.  Lochrane provided survey and civil services, permitting, and construction administration.  Fast tracking design and construction resulted in meeting the 2003 grand opening schedule. 

Grand Cayman Island’s Turtle Farm Theme Park “Boatswain’s Beach”

Grand Cayman Island’s Turtle Farm Theme Park “Boatswain’s Beach” Lochrane was the Civil Engineer of Record (EOR) on this new theme park, which was a major expansion of the existing Cayman Turtle Farm. Called Boatswain’s Beach, this modern facility is part of the restructuring plan developed after the devastating effects that Hurricane Michelle had on the Cayman Turtle Farm in November 2001. The 20-acre marine park offers a celebration of culture unique to the Cayman Islands, allowing guests to explore the wonders of the underwater world. This exciting adventure theme park features a more than one million gallon saltwater snorkel lagoon stocked with exotic fish, predator tank, aviary, Cayman Heritage street with craft vendors, nature trail, educational pavilion, research centre, restaurants and a 300,000 gallon fresh water zero entry pool with waterfalls and caves. Boatswain’s Beach adds significantly to the tourism industry on Grand Cayman. The park fully opened in January 2006.

This condominium project is nestled within the elegant setting of Lake Eola, providing a perfect view of Downtown Orlando. The condominiums are set above first floor retail shops and restaurants which compliment the character of the surrounding neighborhood. A separate parking garage is also included along with a beautiful swimming pool and courtyard for its residents. Comprehensive survey and civil services were provided.
