 Cady Way Trail
Thomas G. Lochrane, P.E., President/CEO of Lochrane Engineering, Inc., a Central Florida civil engineering and surveying firm, has been nominated to Vice Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board in Orange County. Previously Chairman of the Bikeways Advisory Board, Mr. Lochrane joined the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to continue the mission of providing a safe, adequate, and efficient bikeways system, as well as assist in meeting the needs of the overall park system.
In May 2005 the County chose to sunset the Bikeways Advisory Board until such time they feel it is necessary to reactivate it. This move allowed the County to redirect its time and resources to two other advisory boards: the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, handling off road bikeway facilities, and the Public Works Advisory Board, handling on road bikeway facilities.
Over its time, the Bikeways Advisory Board highlighted awareness and the need for bikeways systems throughout the County and stimulated numerous programs to incorporate these systems, wherever practical, in accordance with the Orange County Comprehensive Development Plan.

An avid cyclist, Mr. Lochrane has personally worked on the development of several bikeways/trails over his more than 30 year career including Cady Way Bike Trail in Orange County that travels from the Orlando Fashion Square Mall to Cady Way Park in Winter Park.
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board considers the present and future needs of the park system, including possible expansions or major capital improvements, and recommends definite park programs to the Orange County Board of County Commissioners.
